How music could save the planet

When: Wednesday, March 22 2023, 5:00 – 6:30 PM

Where: Online-Session via Zoom

Music Declares Emergency launched in the UK in 2019 to bring music into the heart of the conversation in response to the climate emergency. Since then it has grown into an international network of autonomous chapters, all working with artists, the music industry, and fans, to fulfil that mission.

Music Declares Emergency has launched global media campaigns under its No Music On A Dead Planet banner, worked with artists including Billie Eilish, Radiohead, and Foals on specific campaigns to highlight the need for urgent action on climate and partnered with leading festivals including Reading and Leeds, Eurosonic Noorderslaag, and Reeperbahn to engage fans in supporting climate campaigns.

Co-founder Lewis Jamieson will discuss the importance of music in response to the climate crisis, where music can play an effective role, and the power of music, fans, and the music industry in facing up to the greatest challenge to life on earth.
